Welcome to this space. Each day we come here not just to be inspired, but to be transformed. If youâve ever wondered whether youâve become routine or surface-level, today is a gentle invitationânot to feel condemned, but to go deeper with God in a real and lasting way. You can catch up on all the previous devotionals here. Thereâs a sound the soul makes when itâs hungry for more of God. Itâs not loud. Itâs more like an ache. A restlessness. A quiet knowing that something is missing, even when everything looks fine from the outside. Deep calls to deep. That phrase from Psalm 42 has always arrested my curiosity. To me, it indicates something is happening beneath the surface for some of us. Beneath the Sunday morning routines and the outward prayers and the highlight-reels we show each other. And God calls to that. But hereâs the thing about deep waterâyou donât stumble into it. You have to move toward it. Intentionally, deliberately, on purpose. And if weâre being honest, so many of us are wading in the shallows. Itâs not because we donât love God but because life is busy and the shallows feel safe. Because weâve settled for familiarity over deeper intimacy. What does a shallow faith look like? Sometimes itâs a Bible that only opens sporadically. A prayer life that runs on autopilot. Or a heart that has quietly drifted toward the things of this worldâentertainment, approval, comfort, successâwhile God quietly waits for our affections. Iâve been there. I know what that stagnant season feels like of going through all the motions without any forward movement. And yet still God doesnât shame us for it. He calls. That stirring you feel, that holy restlessness, that sense that there has to be more to this faith than what youâve been experiencing, thatâs not a guilt trip. Thatâs an invitation. God doesnât stand at a distance and demand you perform better. He stands at the edge of the deep and says, come. The deeper you go with Him, the more alive you become. The deep is calling. You sense it. So before you move on to the next thing, pause. Give Him five minutes. Just five. Set your timer on your phone and open your Bible to Psalm 42. Sit in the quiet. Tell Him where you've been and ask Him to take you deeper. You don't need to have it all together. You just have to show up. That's the yes He's waiting for. And the deep is worth it. P.S.
