Terms of use.
Storyflo (“we”, “the service”) is operated in private alpha. By using it you accept the terms below. They are short on purpose — when we exit alpha we'll publish the formal agreement.
1. What you can do
Use Storyflo to listen to article audio we render from your forwarded links, to browse the public discovery feed, and to share story pages. The service is free during alpha.
2. What you can't do
- Forward content you don't have a right to access. If a paywall blocks a URL, that result is final on our side too.
- Resell, scrape, or programmatically harvest the rendered audio or the article text. Audio bytes are for listening, not training models or building competing catalogs.
- Abuse the listener-sends pipeline (story@storyflo.com) for spam, phishing, or to flood other listeners' queues.
- Reverse-engineer access keys, attempt to bypass rate limits, or impersonate a Storyflo publisher.
3. Publisher content
Articles are owned by their original publishers. Storyflo displays them under a partnership where we share revenue per play (alpha: no revenue is being collected yet — see privacy). If you're a publisher and want to opt out of the public feed, email us and we'll remove your domain within 24 hours.
4. Audio voices and AI synthesis
Article audio is synthesized by text-to-speech models (Kokoro by default; ElevenLabs / Cartesia for premium voices once wired). We label all audio as “narrated by Storyflo” — it is never represented as the publisher's human voice. Voice characteristics may change as we tune the providers.
5. Service availability
Alpha service is best-effort. We'll generally be reachable during business hours (Pacific time) but make no uptime guarantee. Significant outages will be communicated to alpha waitlist members.
6. Account termination
We can suspend access at our discretion if a use case violates §2 above. You can ask us to delete your account at any time per the privacy policy.
7. Liability
Storyflo is provided “as is” without warranty. To the extent permitted by law we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from using the service in alpha.
8. Changes
We'll update this page when the surface changes — the Last updated stamp at the top is authoritative. Material changes will be sent to alpha waitlist members.
