February at The Underbelly: Love, Hope, and Healing
February is often framed as a month of love. At The Underbelly this year, we’re widening that lens. The theme for February is love, hope, and healing- not as abstract ideas, but as practices. Practices that begin with a deep, honest relationship with yourself. More than anything right now, we are being asked to accept ourselves fully. Not just the polished parts. Not just the parts that feel productive or palatable. But the whole thing. The good. The messy. The contradictory. The parts of you that feel strong and the parts that feel uncertain. In the past, we’ve named February as a self-love month. That energy is still here- but this year, we’re going deeper. Because love without honesty isn’t healing. And hope doesn’t come from pretending we’re someone else. Hope comes from knowing yourself well enough to trust your own wisdom. This month is an invitation to stop sourcing your identity from outside yourself. To find yourself interesting again. To value your lived experience as intelligence. To accept the alternating currents within you- the masculine and the feminine, the soft and the fierce, the rooted and the becoming. All beings contain all things. Each of us is a microcosm of the universe. And from that understanding, something powerful emerges: Hope. And with it, the capacity to heal. February also holds deep collective significance. It’s Black Futures Month and Black History Month- a time that reminds us that healing is not passive. It is visionary. It is communal. It is an act of faith in what’s possible. Astrologically, the month mirrors this invitation. A solar eclipse in Aquarius calls us toward the truth of our interconnection- toward the understanding that none of us are separate. At the same time, Saturn and Neptune are gonna meet-up in Aries, igniting a long-term reckoning with authenticity, courage, and self-trust. This is a moment that asks: Who are you really- when you stop apologizing for existing? One place this energy comes to life in a very tangible way is on February 17th, when we release a new class called Morning Yoga Flow- arriving on the same day as the solar eclipse in Aquarius. This class is a collaboration with Beautiful Chorus and features their album High Frequency Love Music. It’s a practice designed to help you start the day attuned to love- not as a concept, but as a frequency you can feel in your body. The timing feels intentional. Aquarius reminds us of our shared humanity, and this practice invites you to move, breathe, and listen from that place of connection. It’s gentle, expansive, and rooted in the belief that healing happens when we allow ourselves to receive. I’m genuinely excited to share this one with you. It feels like a sonic and somatic embodiment of everything this month is about- love, hope, and healing, moving together. At The Underbelly this February, we’re honoring the love, hope, and healing that become available when you accept yourself exactly as you are today. Not someday. Not once you’re fixed. Not once you’re finished. You are already an essential part of the universe. And you are needed- exactly as you are. The February class calendar is designed to support this remembering. Come practice with us.
