The Heirloom Slow Down of 2026
The truth is that Iālike all of usācanāt keep up the pace Iāve been moving at for so many years now. Nothing measures this reality more clearly than an almost five-year-old and an almost two-year-old who need depth of connection, attunement, and mindfulness more than ever. We closed out the year up north, and I truly manifested our greatest Christmas yetāa true Victorian one. As we arrived, we were met with a goliath of a storm. Falling asleep in our little farmhouse room that faces the sea, the wind was whining and howling as if we were in the film Emily. The room shook from the gusts, and I could hear the sea crashing in the distance. Lying in bed, I felt that this was everything I had ever envisioned when manifesting my Victorian farmāsince childhood. When we awoke on Christmas Eve, the power was, of course, completely out, and a true Victorian Christmas commenced: by candlelight and cooking atop our wood-burning stove. This was followed by a deeply special gathering with friends that evening. As we drove home afterward, bursts of pink and purple lightning followed us over the ocean. It was magical, to say the least. But I was never truly able to anchor that trip. There was one thing to tend to after another, followed by a great deal of hosting, and I felt deeply depletedārun into the ground. I suppose that is the consensus when it comes to the holidays. Sound familiar? Yet under the full Cancer Wolf Moon, so much clarity came through. Whether we want it or not, the new paradigm is knocking at our doorāslightly differently for each of us. Below is the beginning of how I am answering that knock in 2026. You can find my Airbnb here. You can find my book here. You can find me on Instagram here.
