Welcome to Longevity Letter
“Longevity”… a modern day health and wellness buzzword you can’t seem to escape. Anyone who’s gained a remote interest in health and promoting a longer and more fulfilling lifestyle has heard of the notorious Bryan Johnson, an American entrepreneur and venture capitalist turned anti-aging guru. His dedication to living, or trying to live forever has incited an obsession with health, wellness and longevity. If you haven’t heard of him, I’ve attached a brief (24 min) read below. https://time.com/6315607/bryan-johnsons-quest-for-immortality/ But what is longevity? And what does it mean? Longevity, in its simplest dictionary form, directly translates to “long life”. But the parameters for true longevity supersede this rudimentary explanation, incorporating the application of real science to live life in an intentional manner that reduces disease risk, promotes bodily function, and increases overall happiness and wellbeing in our daily lives. In the age of online misinformation, ChatGPT written and curated posts, and podcasters/social media influencers who promote conflicting advice, it’s hard to discern what’s real and what isn’t. Oftentimes, those promoting health and longevity do not perform the necessary research to formulate advice which is conducive towards fostering educated opinions and decisions, that truly encourage longevity. Here at The Longevity Letter, my goal is simple - to provide you human curated, analyzed, and written weekly newsletters encompassing all the inner workings of longevity, backed by real science - so you live life, better. No matter your reason for wanting to learn — whether it’s helping your aging loved one in their later years, aiming to feel more present in your own life, or trying to mitigate harmful decision making in your youth — we strive to help educate. This education platform will use the plethora of critically acclaimed literature and manifestos, peer-reviewed research, and scientific findings related to longevity to bring you a library of easy understanding — all in one place. I personally have developed a steadfast passion for longevity, and can confidently say applying many of these principles in my own life have brought me improved mental health and increased capacity for all of my daily decisions and tasks. I welcome you to a clear, science-based platform on preventing aging and promoting a long, fulfilling life. Welcome to The Longevity Letter.
