The HEX system

Publishers, authors, curators, and top listeners each receive a unique FLO-XXXXXX HEX code. The HEX is your attribution anchor — every listen, every share, every premium signup that touches your content flows revenue back to your row.

HEX codes work in URLs (?flo=FLO-A1B2C3), in the embed badge attribute, in your dashboard, and in the claim flow when listeners attribute a story back to your publication. One code, every surface.

Is this DMCA-safe? You're narrating my content.

Yes — opt-in only. Nothing enters the audio network without an explicit publisher (or author) authorization recorded against your HEX. Public RSS feeds without an opt-in are never narrated. Our DMCA process is one-click takedown by HEX-holder, with auto-purge across the CDN within 15 minutes.

How is payout structured?

Monthly. 60% rev share on Tier 1 premium voice plays, 50% on Tier 2 ad-supported plays, and a per-signup attribution bounty on premium subscribers traced back to your HEX (paid for the lifetime of the subscriber). Payout in USD via Stripe Connect or USDC / PYUSD on Base.

Can I opt out at any time?

Yes. From your dashboard, flip the opt-out toggle and we purge your content from the queue, CDN, and downstream podcast directories within 24 hours. Outstanding rev-share earnings still pay out on the next cycle — no clawbacks.

Is participation exclusive?

No. Publish wherever you already publish — your site, your newsletter, Spotify, Substack. Storyflo is additive: a separate audio surface you didn't have before, with your brand on every player. We never gate your content from your existing distribution.

How does the listener-earn loop work?

Top listeners are promoted into the Curator tier and receive their own HEX. When a Curator surfaces your story to other listeners, the play splits attribution between your publisher HEX (primary) and the curator HEX (smaller share). You don't lose revenue — the network grows the addressable pool by paying curators to find your best work.

What exactly gets narrated?

By default, only items in the RSS feeds or article URLs you submit. You can also auto-narrate by domain (everything published to your-domain.com / blog) or hand-pick per-article from the dashboard. Paywalled or subscriber-only content is never narrated unless you explicitly upload it through the authenticated submission endpoint.
